01The opportunity

The dominant belief was that robotaxis and autonomous driving would lead to more carpooling. We questioned that and anticipated the opposite: a growing desire for personalized, individual transportation. That opens a question about what a vehicle designed around one occupant should be, and how to reduce congestion and use vehicle space better at the same time.

02The idea

A vehicle architecture centered on the occupant. Front-entry ingress and egress, new seat kinematics for accessibility, and at its core an advanced safety seat inspired by Formula 1 and racing, engineered to protect the occupant in high-impact collisions. The concept leverages Faurecia's seating expertise to capture value in comfort, accessibility and safety, and identifies the OEM partnerships needed to bring it to market.

03My role

I developed the concept end to end: use-case research identifying market needs and trends, concept development and design of the mobility solution, and tangible experience mock-ups to validate the user experience.

04How it worked

The seat structure integrates reinforced side supports, impact-absorbing materials and an ergonomic shell that cradles the occupant. Front-entry architecture optimizes urban ingress and egress. Supporting material draws on real-world safety concerns, from urban cycling accidents caused by opened car doors to F1 crash survivability, to make the case for stronger occupant protection in future micro-mobility.
