I turn emerging technology into products people can actually use.

Technology and product leader, inventor and hands-on builder. Today I build AI-enabled products for digital health. Before that, automotive systems, audio and connected devices, always from the first working prototype to the shipped product.

01Work

Prototypes that proved an idea, and products that shipped.

Seven of the twenty-one projects in the archive: a telehealth platform in hospitals, a speaker unveiled at Google I/O, ultrasonic haptics in a test vehicle, and headphones that became a JBL feature.

02My approach

The same five steps, whether the result is a bench prototype or a hospital platform.

I start from a human need, find the emerging technology that can answer it, build working systems that prove the idea, and turn those ideas into products and businesses. Sometimes the order flips and a new technology comes first; the discipline is the same.

  1. 01

    See

Find the opportunity. Start from a real human need, or a problem nobody has solved well, and understand it properly before touching technology.

  2. 02

    Define

Find the emerging technology that can answer the need and shape a useful product or experience around it. Decide what it is for, who it is for, and why it is better.

  3. 03

    Build

Create a working system. Hardware, firmware, software and interface, built well enough that people can try the idea for themselves.

  4. 04

    Prove

Validate the technology and the experience with users, executives, partners and the press.

  5. 05

    Productize

Turn it into a scalable product, platform or business, with the architecture, team and partners to ship it.

03Experience

From corporate innovation labs to building a startup.

HP/Palm, HARMAN, Faurecia and LG: advanced R&D groups where the job was to build what did not exist yet. In 2025 that work moved from LG NOVA, LG’s venture-creation arm, into one of its ventures, ReliefAI Health, where I run engineering and product.

04Invention

55+

U.S. patents. Almost every one began as a working prototype.

Audio augmented reality, eye vergence sensing, shape-shifting controllers, force-feedback headphones, augmented reality writing. Most were filed at HARMAN’s Future Experience Team, with earlier work at HP/Palm and later applications at LG.

  • Patent drawing: eye vergence detection on a display
  • Patent drawing: virtual see-through instrument cluster with live video
  • Patent drawing: user controllable auditory environment customization

05About

Computer scientist by training, HCI researcher by practice, builder by habit.

I grew up in Bologna and have spent my career in Silicon Valley, moving between engineering, product, interaction design and hardware because difficult products need someone who can connect them. I have prototyped things that were ahead of their time and helped turn several of them into products that shipped.

Today I lead engineering and product at ReliefAI Health, an LG NOVA-backed behavioral health venture, as its first employee.
